I am so happy to report that I survived week 1! After experiencing my first week here in Asheville, I am realizing that this contract is not going to go as I had thought.
It has been raining and cold since the day we arrived in Asheville. Saturday finally awarded us a reprieve from the rain, but after an exhausting and demanding first week on Contract #3, I had no energy or desire to go to the city. Instead, we took Watson to the local park and played a few holes of disc golf until we were frozen and windburned.
On Sunday, we did find ourselves in downtown Asheville simply to get out and walk around. The weather was once again cold and windy but the rain held off! We enjoyed an AMAZING burger at H&F Burgers and got a better lay of the land for future visits!
We also stopped by a local pet store that has self-service dog spa’s and Watson got a much needed bath!! He wasn’t as excited as we were.
There is nothing better than a good smelling puppy while living in a tiny space! Next week I will be working some call hours and a weekend call day, but we hope to still get out and enjoy at least a few hours of fresh air!!
