I would have never thought that my last week on contract #3 would end the way it did. I did not step foot inside the hospital at all my last week, not even during my “on-call” hours. My regularly scheduled shifts were cancelled after the hospital implemented a new protocol cancelling all non-emergent/non-life threatening cases.
This contract was memorable to say the least, but I still enjoyed the opportunity and experience of being a travel nurse. I will never forget our epic hike on week 4 and I can definitely say, that was the highlight of my stay in Asheville!
As I transition back into the “off” season, I have plans to complete my required Continuing Education hours and I have registered to attend one of the Texas Nursing Conferences in June (if not cancelled due to Covid-19). I currently plan to start looking/applying for my next contract the beginning of May with a desired start date for Contract #4 in mid to late June. But like everything else, this is all just hopes and dreams and the reality may turn out to be completely different. I have learned to just play it by ear.
In the mean time, be sure to keep an eye on Discover The Imagined! Between the renovations to The Barn and The Imagine, and the Texas spring wildflowers, I will continue to post and share a little piece of my paradise with you!
