There is so much about Travel Nursing that requires a “go-with-the-flow” kind of mindset. On Thursday of this week, we were informed by management that our department would be closed to all elective cases, but by Friday, Endoscopy was back open for business as usual. Seriously, just go with the flow!
After a week of long days and back and forth changes going on, a few of us travelers needed an evening to unwind. We had been told that one of our GI doctors, Dr. Ellison, owned the local brewery and decided to check it out!
What we didn’t expect was that one of the other GI nurses had told Dr. Ellison we were going to be there that night and he showed up to give us a private tour and taste testing on the house!
The process of making beer seems so complicated and a true science. Dr. Ellison could talk for hours about his operation and the passion that he puts into his brewery is evident!
We had an amazing time learning the process and seeing it first hand!
We even got to see a little of the breweries history in the retired and new can designs.

After spending our Friday night with great people and supporting a locally loved and owned business, we headed to the great outdoors on Saturday.
Saturday was disc golf day and Watson desperately needed time to run free! When your pup wakes you up at 5 in the morning and brings all of his favorite toys, you know he needs to burn off some energy.
Smiles all around on this fun and hot Saturday outing!
With only 4 weeks left here in Augusta, my life is about to get a little bit crazier! Next week starts my 48 hour work weeks to help fill the void in departments that are short staffed due to Covid-19. I have no idea what to expect but I know that by the time this contract ends, I will be ready for some quiet time on the farm!
Keep following along as I finish out my last month on Contract #4!
