It has been a few weeks since my last blog but the work on The Barn hasn’t stopped!
After completing the Hot Water Heater installation and closing in the wall in my workshop, it was time to move onto projects for the second workshop. After debating many options for how to run electrical from one workshop to the other, we finally settled on a plan that we think was not only the easiest solution but also the best for future possible growth.
We decided to run a 70 amp circuit to a sub-panel inside the second workshop. We ran wires out the back of my workshop, then underground and across the length of the barn, and then up and into the back of the opposite workshop.
Along the way, we planned for future additions of outdoor sockets and left access for easy installation when the time came.
Once the main power source was wired into the sub-panel, we got to work running conduit throughout the workshop. Adding multiple sockets and placing additional blank sockets for future 30amp plugs as well.
While we were running conduit and drilling holes in our perfectly beautiful barn, we decided to go ahead and add a socket in the carport. I am super excited about this one, and cant wait for Christmas!
This project was completed in only a few days and I am beginning think that we are officially amateur electrical experts.
We now wait for shop lights to be delivered and then installation can begin! We have made so much progress on The Barn since being home. Despite the frustrations of waiting for parts to repair The Imagine, our ability to get this much work done on The Barn has been very rewarding!
Keep following along as we continue to make progress on The Barn and turn it into an extension of our RV home!
