This upcoming contract is definitely going to test me in a brand new way! Now that I have been a travel nurse for over a year, I am beginning to be tested in ways outside the normal “nursing realm”.
This contract is all about surviving the weather while living full time in a 30ft Travel Trailer.
Weather is something that we ALWAYS have to consider before signing a contract and despite our successful survival in Asheville last winter, we may have been a little over confident about our abilities to survive winter in Farmington, NM. Because the current temps there are well into the teens at night, we are preparing the rig the best we can while still here in the “warm” climates of North East Texas. Skirting for the rig with a weight frame- check, ceramic heater for under the rig- check, heated water hose with insulation wrap- check, more winter cloths bought for this trip than I have ever owned in my life- Check!
This last week before our departure, I find myself nervously packing everything neatly in its place. We are preparing for a totally new experience and way of life!
All I can do now is keep reminding myself that this is all part of the Travel Nursing/RV Life! This is just another contract proving how crazy and amazing this Travel nurse Adventure truly is!
