With our last full weekend before the end of Contract #5, the “Alien Throne” was the only formation left on my Farmington bucket list.
It was time to head back to where this journey all began… The Valley of Dreams. I initially explored this vast desert wilderness on Week 1, but the Alien Throne eluded me.
I never forgot this missed opportunity, but Week 12 finally found me kneeling before the Throne itself!
Truly alien compared to the surrounding land, this formation doesn’t quite fit in.
It stands oddly beautiful and strangely unique in a valley full of hoodoos.
After 12 weeks here in New Mexico, every hike and every adventure has taken us to new and other-worldly places. As we prepare to head home, I can’t help but cherish my weeks here in Farmington, NM.
It has certainly been one amazing Travel Nurse adventure in the heart of the Land of Enchantment!
