After completing all of the online license requirements for my Nevada Nursing License, it didn’t take long to hear back from them! 24 hours later, I was issued my temporary 6 month license. Later that week, I received my fingerprinting card and instructions for how to complete and return the card in the mail. After mailing back the fingerprint card and the last of the hard documents, I was told that the results of the fingerprints and background check can take up to 4 months to be cleared. I am officially done with all Licensing requirements less than 1 week after starting the process. I was very hesitant to take a job in a non-compact state because the licensing requirements were very intimidating, but Nevada licensing was so easy!
With that step of this “on-boarding” process completed, I am now in limbo. I should be receiving instructions from the hospital soon but until then, I am getting both the rig and truck ready for the journey west.
First on my list is making a few repairs to The Imagine. Replacing the broken onboard water pump in the rig and replacing a drawer rail on one of the kitchen drawers that opens while traveling are top priority.
I also need to do some spring cleaning and exchanging of clothing. When first returning to Texas, most of my winter cloths got put away into storage… with Reno still getting into the 30s and 40s at night, I will need to get a mix of both winter and summer cloths packed back into the rig. Spring cleaning will also include removing anything from the rig that has not been used in the last year. A constant purging of weight and excess “stuff” is always needed to keep the rig in a healthy living state. Clutter and excess is one of the biggest problems when living in a tiny space. If left unchecked, it literally affects daily living!
On the flip side to all the “chores” I am needing to complete prior to leaving home, the best part of prepping for Nevada is planning my adventures while on location! The whole reason I Travel Nurse is for the adventures! Hikes, waterfalls, bike trails, national parks, and lake days are already calling my name and I can not wait to see all the beauty and wonder that Contract #6 has to offer!
Just over 3 weeks and counting until I am Nevada bound!
