Last week, The Imagine got a few upgrades!
The first was a new water pump. I had no idea that this was going to turn into an upgrade instead of just a repair, but I am ecstatic about the outcome! If you want to read more about the new pump and replacement process, click HERE…
The new pump is awesome, but my second upgrade is even better!! I installed a Oxygenic BodySpa RV shower head and am not sure how I have lived the last two years in The Imagine without it!
Let me give you a little bit of back story to explain my water pressure situation and why this upgrade has change my RV life experience.
RVs are not designed to withstand high water pressure. Most RV brands recommend between 40-50psi water pressure and that is because the plumbing is not residential grade. Leaks are common and they usually occur because of high water pressure or damage to the lines or connections. Just for reference, a traditional sticks-and-bricks home can have up to 80psi of water pressure.
With that said, 40psi is plenty for me. I am not one who likes for my showers to literally take my skin off or cause bruising. Here is the deal though, at my home base, I get 20psi max and often times it is not even that high. This wouldn’t be a problem if I was bald…
With water pressure this low, rinsing any kind of soap is nearly impossible and increases the time and amount of water needed to finish a job. This in turn means my showers take longer and with a tiny RV water heater, I run out of hot water very quick. Nobody enjoys running out of hot water because they can’t get their shampoo to rinse! First world problems, right!?!
The new shower head does exactly what it claims, it “amplifies low water pressure”.
So, now I am living the life of luxury in my tiny home. Being able to rinse my hair before I run out of hot water has been a game changer! Who knew living in an RV could get even better?
