If you have been following along, you will know that my first week here in Reno, Nevada has been a bit of a rollercoaster. With the weekend finally here, we decided to head out early and see what Lake Tahoe was all about!
Monkey Rock is one of the small hidden treasures here at Lake Tahoe, and it was the perfect first hike!
This trail led us to multiple overlooks and I quickly realized that there is no better first hike than one with a birds eye view! To be able to see the snow capped mountains in the distance and the crystal blue waters that stretched on as far as the eye could see was incredible.
Once we reached the top, Monkey Rock was there to greet us!
He is the cutest rock I have ever seen. Seriously, how many times have you ever had a rock make you smile?
And that view! Monkey Rock has the best seat in the house!
I have planned to spend the majority of my weekends in and around Lake Tahoe and if Monkey Rock is any indication of the treasures hidden here, I can’t imagine how awesome my summer in Nevada is going to be!
