Both inside and outside the hospital, this week was eventful to say the least.
Inside the hospital, lets just keep it positive… I am so happy to of had the chance to learn a new charting system that I am sure to see again in the future! My biggest struggle has definitely been learning a new EMR in a department that has thrown me for a loop these last 7 weeks, but this week, I do feel that the light bulb has finally gone off and I am able to do my job with confidence and organization. I am definitely ready to take this small positive experience and use it to excel in my next contract, but only after a long, long… LONG break. It will be a while till I am recovered from this contract.
Outside the hospital, my 3 day weekend started out with finding a nail in the truck tire. The truck tires are so thick and the nail was short enough that we were able to make it home without running flat! A few weeks before we left the barn, we had to buy a kit and plug a hole in one of the tires on the golf cart. That kit with the extra plugs was in the toolbox in the Imagine! We were able to plug the tire right away and have now learned that a tire plug kit is an RV travel essential!
After a successful repair on the truck, we headed to Truckee, Ca for a morning riding the trails!
With another early start, we were able to let Watson lead the way on this perfect morning bike ride.
After many attempts to find the perfect bike trail, we finally found it!
In other news, I have been watching the dense smoky haze on the horizon caused by the worsening California and Oregon wildfires. Today, the smoke has caught up to us.
Oh, and we experienced our first earthquake recently as well…
Next weekend is my call weekend and that got me thinking… I only have 2 weekends left to explore before we start our journey home! I have big plans for my free weekends and Chris has big plans for our journey home, so stay tuned every Sunday as I knock out these last few weeks of Contract #6!!
