Nothing has been easy when it came to the “On-Boarding” process for Contract #7. From day one, I realized that this agency runs at their own speed- slow as molasses!
A response to a simple question takes DAYS to hear back and then when time sensitive questions come up, it is insanely stressful to “wait” for them to take action.
When I thought the contract was signed-sealed-and delivered and I completed all of my on-boarding requirements… another offer was put on the table.
I was offered a 26 week contract in lieu of 13 week and in return, if I signed and completed 26 weeks, I would be given a “completion bonus”. I accepted the offer and after 3 days of back and forth with my Nurse Advocate and failing at negotiating days off… I signed my life away for the money.
I have only ever come close to an extension once (New Mexico), so signing myself up for an extension before I even step foot in the hospital… it’s a bit scary! BUT, I got the best news and with all the changes happening, I needed good news!
My travel friend that I met and worked with in Augusta, GA last year while on contract #4 will be joining me for 24 of those 26 weeks!!
With everything now officially signed-sealed-and delivered (I hope), I am ready for my last week here at home as we prep the rig for yet another adventure! So glad that this contract is less than 2 hours from home.
