Happy Thanksgiving
A long weekend was just what I needed!
Work has been very routine these last few weeks and of course my three day work week felt like eternity. This contract, I negotiated days off. I never felt the need to do this before now because I was so far from home that there was no reason to not work on a holiday or weekend, but this contract was different. I took this contract knowing that I wanted to be home for the holidays! With this, I asked for specific days off for Thanksgiving and Christmas and I am so glad that I did!
This job is not about the money (even though that is a bonus), it is more about the flexibility and being in control of your own schedule!
With Thanksgiving weekend drawing to a close, I have spent my time decorating the rig! Although not as elaborate and definitely not “magazine” worthy, but Christmas in The Imagine is a special site.
With 1 strand of lights, a tiny Christmas tree with a few ornaments, and 3 stockings hung on command hooks, living tiny looks a little different during the holidays, but that makes it easy to keep this time of year more about the memories made and shared and less about the “stuff”.
With the weeks ticking by faster and faster, I got my call weekend scheduled. I will be On-Call for the New Years weekend and I have a feeling that I am in for a very long 2 days. But that’s still 4 weeks away! For now, I have my second call-weekday this coming Wednesday and hope it goes smoother than my last.
Keep following along as I take Contract #7 one week at a time and see where this crazy travel nurse adventure takes me next!
Good luck with your call
You are good at what you do so a call night ahould.not be bad. Just stay positive. It’s contagious.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving
