After spending the last 3 weekends traveling back and forth to Nacogdoches, it was nice to have a weekend to just relax and stay close to The Imagine.
This week, I had my second weekday call and other than having to stay late, I was so grateful to not get called back in! I slept like a baby and was able to enjoy my day off the next day!
With there being an archery tournament at the range this weekend, I knew that Thursday was my only chance to shoot! And man, it was an awesome archery day. I shot scores that I hadn’t shot since Worlds and Vegas! I mean, seriously competitive scores… not my all time high record but damn near close! A 286 out of 300 is a respectable score for even the best recurve archers and I am so proud of it!
After holding my own on the archery range, this weekend, we decided to go disc golfing. Our first week here in Tyler, our neighbor in the RV park set up a training basket and was practicing for a tournament that was being held near by. Chris and I both hadn’t realized that there was a course so close to us, much less, a major league PDGA course. With nothing planned for this weekend, we finally got around to checking it out and playing a round!
The signs are intimidating but the course was actually really great!
We hadn’t played a round of disc golf since New Mexico and we quickly realized how much we miss our Sunday tradition!
Watson was finally able to run free, something that he seriously needed. Poor guy LOVES running the trails and free range exploring, but our location here just doesn’t allow for it on a daily basis. I think adding back in our Sunday Disc golf extravaganzas are going to make a huge comeback!
Because, in all honesty, there is nothing better than an exhausted puppy and a day in the woods!
Even with the rain clouds threatening our morning, it was a beautiful and perfect day to spend outside.
I threw some of my best drives on this Advanced course and it was a cherry on top of an already epic sports week for me! Although, I might be able to throw a driver like a champ, I sure know how to ruin a perfectly good drive with an epic putt… and when I say epic, I mean epically awful.
It’s a swing and a miss! I mean, what can you do… well, not documenting it is the first step because we all know that if it’s not documented, it never happened! Right?!? LOL, my nurses out there know what I am saying!
Next week, I have another weekday call and I will be heading back to Nacogdoches on the weekend! A few projects are calling my name and with the new RV coming the week after next, it is time to get a few things ready for the big move! Keep following along every Sunday as I continue on this crazy amazing Travel Nurse adventure!
Disk golf. I hope you had fun. Good luck with the archery. I can’t wait to see the imagine II.
