Merry Christmas!!
I am officially halfway in Contract #7!
With this week being the end of round 1, I have made a promise to myself to not take extensions or double contracts in the future. Not saying that I’m disappointed or upset about having another 13 weeks to go, but my homesickness and needing a break from nursing is honestly reaching its peak after 13 weeks! It is sometimes hard to remember why you made the choices you did when money is being dangled in your face, but this was a quick reminder of why I chose to be a Travel nurse. Having control over my schedule and being able to take extended time off between contracts so I can recoup is worth far more than any payday!
My only saving grace for this double contract is that I am so close to home! Being able to take weekend trips back to Nacogdoches and spend the Holidays with my family is giving me a weekend recharge that keeps me chugging along on this 26 week adventure.
It is so true that the older you get, the more you realize what is truly important in life. This year, not only have we been away in Tyler, but my Dad recently got a job working in New Mexico that has taken him away for many months. To be able to all come back together, even for only a few days, makes the Holiday Season mean so much more!
Simple things like a game of -HORSE- “archery style” and building Sugar Cookie houses are memories that will last a lifetime!
It is times like these that make all the sacrifices worth it!
This coming week, we got the official word that the new RV should be delivered! With a new home comes deep cleaning in preparation of moving day.
We are using this Sunday to make a trip to the laundromat to make sure all our fabrics are clean, defrost the fridge and freezer, remove all decorations from the walls, and slowly start to box up small items to make this weeks transition easier! We are so excited and I can’t rait to share this new chapter in our RV/Travel Nurse adventure!
Keep following along every Sunday, and get ready to see the adventure we ReImagined for our future!
You have played your cards well. It is such a pleasure to see what you are doing. Good luck with the move
