FINISHED!!!
It hasn’t really sunk in yet that Monday, I will not be returning to work and like always, it is bitter sweet. Despite my frustrations and exhaustion from working, I always meet people that leave a special mark on my heart! Some of my coworkers went above and beyond to share their gratitude in a send off like no other and I can’t thank them enough for making me feel like one of their own. Travel Nursing is insanely hard and one of the worst parts about being a Travel Nurse is how lonely it can be. I don’t always make friends and I don’t always feel welcome, but those people that invite me into their group without hesitation, they are worth cherishing and are truly amazing people!
With the end of this marathon contract comes the beginning of a summer full of adventures and the first adventure- road tripping home for the first time with The ReImagine.
I spent half of Friday getting as much ready for moving day as I could! Deep cleaned the floors and counters, stowed away anything that was not secured down, rolled up all my rugs, and rearranged shelves and drawers to ensure best possible travel outcome! Over the last nearly 3 years of RV living, I have made my fair share of packing mistakes, but have definitely learned from them! Don’t store heavy items in unsupported shelves or drawers, tall items that could fall over need to be put in baskets, glass items definitely need to be stored in baskets… things like that. Even though this was my first time packing up The ReImagine, it felt normal and easy to get everything ready to roll.
The morning of Travel day was easy. A few outside chores like disconnecting all our lines, brought in the slides and hitching up went smoothly! We were ready to hit the road in no time!
The drive home was even “easy”… and I say “easy” in that towing any large rig even what I now consider our tiny Imagine is stressful, but was without physical difficulty. Our new dash cam caught a Deer hurdling across a 4 lane highway plus on/off ramps with some ridiculously high jumps… thank goodness he made it cause there would be no stopping that Truck and Trailer if he didn’t!

Once we got home, the “easy” part was over! Keeping in mind, towing and backing in a 5th wheel trailer is completely new to me! I remember the Imagine being a learning curve in towing and backing in and this 5th wheel is no different. Getting it into the barn was HORRIBLE, so hard, omg, I’m gonna need some practice before I have to back into a campground/RV park spot because no doubt, everyone will be watching and cringing.
But, we made it! ReImagine and Barn unscathed.
And this whimsical East Texas sunrise welcomed us home! This is heaven on earth!
We designed and built this barn 2 years ago, and today, that foresight paid off!
We looked at so many RVs when it came time to upgrade, but we knew that it had to have a rear-living layout for this one reason!
Morning sunrises over the back pasture!
I have so much that I need to start to get done now that I am home, but for now, I am just going to sit here and enjoy the view!
Keep following along every Sunday as I transition back to farm life and throw in a few wild adventures along the way!
Enjoy
