Easy and practical modifications are always the most rewarding when it comes to tiny living.
The ReImagine has closet space that I never had before in the old rig and this closet space came with its own small annoyances. They are so dark inside! There are no lights in these deep spaces.
The idea of adding LED strip lights with a light switch was discussed but this would have required a bit more work than I was willing to undertake. I had heard of motion sensor LED lights and after researching my options, these Rechargeable Motion Activated LED Lights is what I chose.
I wasn’t sure if these would work how I envisioned them, but at just under $15 a piece, I was willing to test them out.
These little lights are perfect! I was not expecting them to make such a huge difference, but am happy with my choice. I no longer have to turn the room lights on to find what I need inside my closets.
Now, there was one downside to these LED lights… They magnet to brackets that you are suppose to stick to the surface that you want. Sticking things to RV walls is always a gamble. Things don’t always stick due to the finish on the wood or wallpaper present. I have learned in my 3 years of full-time RV life that command strips are definitely the best option when it comes to getting things to stick to the walls. After the brackets fell multiple times due to them not wanting to adhere to the closet ceilings, I decided to do away with the brackets and add command velcro strips to the lights and stick them straight to the surface. The velcro allows me to still remove them for charging without having to use the magnetic brackets. A small issue that was easily fixed and doesn’t deter me from loving this product!
Living small is easy but still requires a little bit of creativity!
