Right on time! My onboarding team reached out late this evening to start the process! This first contact and email is SO overwhelming!
It always starts out with the pleasantries but quickly cascades into an endless list of ”To-Do’s” with quickly approaching deadlines! Health appointments for physicals/drug screen/vaccinations, Relias Tests, and required documents for employment purposes will all be listed on this initial email. With this contract, I will also have to do a phone interview with my onboarding team (this part is new since my last contract with Agency P) and my appointment for that has been set for tomorrow morning.
In the past, this email freaked me out but, for some reason, this contract is different! I have been looking forward to this email and have been excited to get this onboarding process started.
I have already completed some of the required employment documents, printed my Authorization pages to take to my required health appointments, and took all of my Relias exams!!!
Here is a glimpse at my Relias Exam instructions.
What are Relias Exams? They are exams used by travel agencies and hiring hospitals to gauge a nurses critical thinking and core knowledge level both in general nursing and areas of specialty. The 3 Core Competency exams that deal with HIPPA, Ethics, and so much more are also ALWAYS required and have to be retaken once a year. That being said, it was time for me to revisit them… I am not sure if it is because this is my 8th contract and it is FINALLY getting easier or if I was just excited to get this onboarding started, but, I flew through those exams without a single drop of sweat! I am so glad my test anxiety was under control and I am already well on my way to completing my ”To-Do” list!
I wonder what the interview tomorrow will consist of…
Keep following along as I knock one ”to-do” after another off my list and get one day closer to the start of another crazy amazing travel nurse adventure!
