After returning home from our 3000 mile trip to and from the east coast, there was yet another repair that needed to be done to The ReImagine.
The shower faucet handle cracked and broke. I have ordered parts to replace them, but they haven‘t yet arrived. I will be living with cold showers (not entirely a bad thing in this Texas heat) for a few more days while I wait!
In the mean time, though, I decided to do a bit of deep cleaning! Mopped, dusted, cleaned AC vent filters, shampooed my rugs… you know, the usual house cleaning but on steroids! But there are a few things in this Tiny House of mine that I can not ever get clean. The clear pendant lights and the glass shower doors!
DUST!!! Even after dusting, the pendant lights above the kitchen island and on the walls on either side of the coach were still dusty!! I can remove the clear pieces and wash them with soap and water, but they are not easy to get in and out and they won’t stay clean for more than a week.
I started to look for replacement shades for the fixtures, but quickly realized that I wouldn’t be able to afford changing all of them out… so, I found another solution!
Window Film!! This simple and cheap solution gave my pendant lights the perfect amount of dust hiding power without taking away from the light that they provide!
After upgrading my light fixtures, it was time to address the chronically dirty shower doors! To apply the window film, you have to clean the surface your attaching them to and even after cleaning, they still weren’t clean… proof that I definitely needed a solution!
The difference with the Window Film is amazing!! Not only do I love the way it looks, but it was easy to install!
Living tiny can be tough, but the key is to make your space work for you! Modifying what frustrates me about my tiny home and improving its function truly makes this lifestyle easier!
With these projects complete, I am definitely ready to get that shower faucet handle fixed!… and the bathroom drawer rail needs fixing as well! The projects seem never ending, especially after driving the length of Louisiana on I20, twice!
