Happy New Year!! 2024 was a very quiet year for us as we focused on our plans for the future and a new home. I was also Vice President of our local disc golf club, which kept me local as I worked with the club and our disc golf community to host a number of events including multiple charity events!
2025 will hopefully bring us back to a somewhat adventurous year! The house build will definitely keep us mostly stationary for the first half of the year, but with my birthday in January and we still haven’t broken ground on the house build, we thought this was the perfect time to go ahead and head out on my long anticipated “Tour of Texas” trip! We are currently braving the frigid cold in Central Texas but the cold is truly the best time to adventure! The state park is nearly deserted, the air has that crisp clean smell to it, and the wildlife is active and beautiful!
This state park is also home to bison, Texas longhorns, and…. DINO TRACKS!! You know I love me some dinosaur tracks!! The kid in me can’t hide my excitement and regrets of never becoming a paleontologist! Throughout my week here, I hope to be able to see and experience all this state park has to offer…. while trying to not freeze to death! I am instantly reminded of what it is like when you RV in real winter weather! Fleece leggings, thick pants, wool socks, waterproof hiking boots, base layer shirt, wool sweater, down jacket, fully lined beanie and gloves!! Yep, having a little deja vu from my time in New Mexico!
Keep following along on my month long journey around Texas… there will be no shortage of funny stories and photos I am sure!
